Kent Homes in Bouctouche, NB has landed the largest contract in the company’s history, CBC has reported.
The J.D. Irving Limited-owned company has signed an agreement with Outland Camps to build 100 dorm rooms and other buildings for the Manitoba Hydro Bipole III Converter Station project site near Gillam, MB.
Kent Homes will build a series of complexes totaling 115,000 square feet, the equivalent to two football fields.
The commercial project will feature amenities, such as a games room and a cafeteria that can serve 380 employees at a time.
The company says it will hire an additional 30 new employees to help meet the demands of the project.
Kent Homes has been operating for more than 50 years, providing homes and modular space solutions.
