Construction completed on Nova Scotia’s biomass plant

Construction is complete on the $183 million biomass power plant at Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, reports The Chronicle Herald.

The 60-MW co-generation plant is expected to start generating electricity next month. The plant will produce steam for the Port Hawkesbury Paper mill in Port Hawkesbury, and electricity for the provincial utility Nova Scotia Power.

The plant is expected to be fully operational in the summer.
