New $200M wind facility planned in Chester

The Municipality of Chester is ready to sign a development agreement with the South Canoe Wind Project, reports South Shore Now.

The municipality will sign an agreement with Nova Scotia Power Inc., Minas Basin Pulp and Power Limited and Oxford Frozen Foods Ltd. for the construction of a $200 million wind turbine facility.

The facility will have 34 turbines near South Canoe Lake on a 3,044-hectare property in an area between Highway 14 and New Russell Road.
