The total value of permits issued this year as of August is about $17.6 million, an increase of about $8 million compared to the August 2012 permit value, according to Jason Fox, director of planning and development of Town of Truro.
Major new construction in Truro includes the Cougar Dome, valued at $2.1 million, and Sunrise Vision Care, valued at $800,000.
“We are having a very good year. We were up over $30 million in new construction (from) about five years ago,” said Fox.
