Corner Brook City Hall receives LEED Silver certification
Corner Brook City Hall became the first office building in Newfoundland and Labrador to receive LEED Silver certification, according to DCN News Services.
The 10,000-square-metre facilityhas a ground-source heat pump, locally-sourced building materials, high-efficiency lighting, water conservation systems and a green roof.
“The City of Corner Brook is proud to stand as a leader in this field. When we undertook the challenge of building a new City Hall, we chose to set an example for others in our community and across the province. It is our hope that Corner Brook City Hall will be the first of many LEED certified public buildings across our province,” said Corner Brook mayor Charles Pender in a statement.
