Northern Construction has received an operating approval from the Nova Scotia’s Department of Environment for a quarry near East Chester.
The environmentdepartmentconsidered all comments by residents and issued the approval on November 7, DailyBusinessBuzz reports.
The developer needs to comply with the environmental permits’ terms and conditions that address dust, noise, protecting water resources and remediating the site when the quarry closes. Also, the quarry must follow the pit and quarry guidelines, the publication reports.
The environmentdepartmentstaff will monitor the operation to ensure the project complies with the terms and conditions.
