The Chronicle Herald reports that contractors in Nova Scotia took out building permits worth $122.5 million in March, up 47.7% from February, according to numbers released by Statistics Canada.
However, the total is still down 14.3% from last March.
Residential construction permits totaled $89 million in March, up more than 33% from February and 16.5% from the same month in 2012.
Non-residential construction permits totaled $33.5 million in March, up nearly 105% from February, but down almost 50% from March 2012.
