Nova Scotia to reshape Port Hawkesbury’s business district

Nova Scotia is injecting $20,000 into a plan to refresh the look of Port Hawkesbury’s business district, TheChronicleHerald.

The funding for the Reeves Street project was announced by Economic and Rural Development Minister Michel Samson. The total cost of designing a facade program is $55,000, with funding to be contributed by the Town of Port Hawkesbury, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce.

Once a redesign for Reeves Street is mapped out, Samson said the province will consider further funding to the project.Michael Hatt, owner of the Medicine Shoppe in Port Hawkesbury, said he’s hoping the project will draw more customers into his rented space.
