Sackville Town has decided to put on hold a garden/green roof project on town’s hall as costs for the project came in higher than expected, Sackville Tribune Post reports.
Town Treasurer Michael Beal said a tender call was issued for the green roof project last month, and only one bid was received by the deadline date.
“It had exceeded the budget so we will not be proceeding with the green roof at this time,” he said during council’s monthly meeting last week (mid-May).
The budget for the project was set at $150,000 to $160,000 but the bid submitted was priced at $189,640.
