Halifax TD Centre expansion project to cost over $25 million

The Halifax TD Centre’s expansion project is expected to cost more than $25 million, said a representative of TDB Halifax Holdings Ltd., which owns the centre.

CKG Group has partnered with TDB Halifax Holdings and EllisDon on the TD Centre project, which “is a unique example of heritage and modernbuilding renovation/redevelopment in a congested downtownarea.”

The project, which has been designed to achieveLEED Gold certification, will double floorspace from 100,000 to 200,000 sq. ft. The project also incorporates a three-story addition to the 18-story office tower and incorporates an adjacent heritage facade.

“When complete,the TD Centre Halifax will be the largest and newest Class A smart building in Halfax,” the owner’s representative said.

The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2014.
