The Town of Marystown is planning to build a ‘roundabout’ at the intersection of McGettigan Boulevard and Harris Drive, reports Southern Gazette.
The town is considering a recommendation from a New Brunswick-based traffic consultant to develop a roundabout or rotary, which is used to control the flow of traffic through several intersections without the use of traffic lights or stop signs, the paper said.
Last year, a petition from area residents to council complained about the dangerous intersection where McGettigan Boulevard intersects with Harris Drive and Ville Marie Drive. There have been several accidents there and residents expressed concern a tragedy was waiting to happen.
